Portrait of the sign

Dear Gemini friends, the ancient poet assigns you the gentlest pursuits: song, the shaped word, instruments, and a youth that never ends. For you even effort is a pleasure, as long as the mind keeps moving. You recognise yourself: you need to talk, read, write, change rooms, change subject, change air. You get bored quickly, and boredom is your real enemy, more than hard work. You are curious about everything and good at many things, and that is both your luck and your risk: you start ten projects and finish three. In love you look for someone to laugh and argue with, a conversation partner before a safe harbour; at work you shine where words, contacts and quick ideas are needed, less where the same gesture must be repeated for years. What you sometimes lack is the patience to go deep. The poet adds a trait few people grant you: the Twins find their way up to the stars, measure the world with numbers and rhythms and leave even the stars behind them; for them nature is smaller than genius and serves it in everything, so much so that the sign, he says, is fertile in inventions. So you are also a scientist, a calculator, an inventor: when curiosity turns into method, you arrive where no one expected you. And you want arms, war trumpets and sad old age kept far away: you prefer leisure and a love that keeps you young for ever, and that, in the end, is your cure for boredom. The advice: when you have found something good, stay a little longer than usual. Depth does not take away your lightness.

«Mollius e Geminis studium est et mitior aetas per varios cantus modulataque vocibus ora et gracilis calamos et nervis insita verba ingenitumque sonum: labor est etiam ipse voluptas. arma procul lituosque volunt tristemque senectam, otia et aeternam peragunt in amore iuventam. inveniunt et in astra vias numerisque modisque consummant orbem postque ipsos sidera linquunt: natura ingenio minor est perque omnia servit. in tot fecundi Gemini commenta feruntur.»

The Moon in Gemini

The Moon is passing through Gemini: people talk, write, move about, change their minds. The mind is alert and the hands are skilful, but staying power is short. A good day for contacts, short trips and negotiations; less good for settling anything final.
