Portrait of the sign

Dear Pisces friends, the ancient poet entrusts you with the sea: those born under the last sign trust their lives to the deep, know rivers and harbours, winds and sky, and can turn the helm now this way, now that. It is the portrait of someone who steers by feeling and, precisely for that reason, reaches where others dare not go. You feel everything: the mood of a room, the pain someone hides, the music behind the words. It is a gift that tires you, and sometimes you would like to shut the door and disappear. You are compassionate, imaginative, willing to forgive more than would be wise. In love you merge with the other and risk losing yourself; at work you shine where intuition, art and care for people are needed, and you suffer where only numbers count. The risk is escape: into dreams, into excuses, into postponing. The poet goes on with a list full of water: building ships and fitting them out, countless arts for which even names run short, rowing and bending the slow oars, sweeping the calm sea with nets and tipping the peoples of the fish onto the shore, hiding the hook in the bait and the trick in the trap, and even naval battles, wars hanging over waves stained with blood. Beyond the metaphor: you know how to live on what cannot be seen, with patience and cunning, and when needed you can fight too, more than your gentleness lets on. And he closes with words that do you honour: a fertile race, a friendly will, quick movements, and everything changing over the course of a life. You are generous, you often change skin, and each time you begin again. The advice: when you feel the current carrying you off, grab hold of one concrete fact, a time, a commitment made. The helm is yours.

«Ultima quos gemini producunt sidera Pisces, his erit in pontum studium, vitamque profundo credent et puppes aut puppibus arma parabunt, quidquid et in proprios pelagus desiderat usus. innumerae veniunt artes: vix nomina rebus sufficiunt, tot sunt parvae quoque membra carinae. adde gubernandi studium, quod venit in astra et pontum caelo vincit. bene noverit orbem fluminaque et portus, mundum ventosque, necesse est iamque huc atque illuc agilem convertere clavum et frenare ratem fluctusque effundere rector, iam remis agere et lentas inflectere tonsas. quin placidum ductis everrere retibus aequor litoribusque suis populos exponere captos aut uncos celare cibis aut carcere fraudem, navalis etiam pugnas, pendentia bella, attribuunt pelagique infectos sanguine fluctus. fecundum genus est natis et amica voluntas et celeres motus mutataque cuncta per aevum.»

The Moon in Pisces

The Moon is passing through Pisces: the mood turns dreamy, tender, easily moved and easily discouraged. People feel a lot and decide little; imagination runs, willpower melts. A good day for art, rest and acts of compassion; less good for business and deadlines.
