Virgil, Aeneid I.26

Melphi

Melphi speaks

manet alta mente repostum

The priest translates

«It stays stored away deep in the mind.»

And interprets

This verse speaks of what you have not forgotten. Perhaps you think you have closed an old story, a wrong suffered in the family, a disappointment at work, a love that ended badly; and yet something stays there, deep down, and resurfaces when you least expect it, maybe as irritation or as distrust towards people who have nothing to do with it. Melphi does not ask you to erase anything: it asks you to look. A grudge kept too long ends up making your choices for you. Watch out for this, and decide for yourself what to keep and what to let go.
