The Tower
Major Arcana · number 16 · La Torre
Upright
The Tower is the card of the unforeseen that brings everything down: a sudden blow, a loss, poverty knocking, a disgrace, a deception uncovered, a truth coming out and shattering a certainty. If these days something has come crashing down on you, in love, at work or in your wallet, it is no accident, and pretending it did not happen will not help. But look closely: the Tower falls because it was badly built. Whatever is still standing after the shock is real. The practical advice: do not rebuild at once on the same foundations. Secure the essentials, money, health, the people you love, and wait for the dust to settle.

Reversed
Reversed, the Tower shakes less violently, but the blow still lands, and on top of it there is a sense of oppression, of prison, of someone ruling too hard. Perhaps a boss who smothers you, a partner who controls, a debt that has you by the throat. If you feel shut inside a situation with no visible exit, it is no accident: the card says the walls are already cracked. Be careful not to replace one tyrant with another. The practical advice: find the first stone to remove, a deadline, a dependency, a word left unspoken, and start from there.
